As a chronically ill artist, my art attempts to contextualize life’s unpredictability and potential to change in an instant. Through the mediums of painting, digital, and film photography I attempt to unpack and accept the deterioration of the body due to a condition beyond my control. Using my disability as the main drive in creating works, I attempt to bring awareness and attention to disability identity within the art world. Using my uncomfortable relationship with the disabled body as the main focus within my practice, I follow the mode of self-portraiture in order to examine the identity of being a disabled woman.
